Highest I’ve seen this offer is $300. No idea if that’ll come back. We’ve also seen the combo checking/LOC offer get to $400. It’s kind of a which ever offer you’re comfortable with. They’re all easy but some don’t like the idea of opening a LOC with Upgrade.

I had an issue with this one….. I’ve been following your news and links and its been all good up until now.
I used the link, setup a new account, did the direct deposit, yada yada $200 is well on the way.
Some time goes by and I haven’t gotten the bonus yet, so I reach out to customer support. The first email I get from them says this:
“After review of your account, it does look like you qualified for the bonus. We have escalated this matter to the proper channels to have this reviewed. We do ask that you allow us 5 business days to review/respond to your inquiry.”
So 7 days go by, I reply asking for information, and this is the reply I get:
“We do apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication. The person who referred you has reached their maximum payout allowed for this bonus which voids any payouts to those they referred. Let us know if you have any other questions!”
I went on to chat with them and it seemed like they had shut down any thought of me getting $200. They even ended the chat on me mid-discussion.
Has something like this ever happened to you before?? Really got me heated. I already set up my money transfer and plan on closing the account asap.

I had the same issue but pushed a bit back.
They said I couldn’t receive the bonus because RJ had reached his maximum referral amount to which I asked “How does that affect me?” Respectfully, of course, she said she would reach out to higher-ups regarding their discretion and I received an email about 3 business days later saying I had been granted the funds and it was in my account automatically.

The $500 offer is a hack of the $400 offer on Credit Karma, which has been reported to work.
For those thinking about churning, or stacking this referral promotion with the $400/$500 promotion by getting the Upgrade card first and then applying for the checking account through a referral link, I do not think it will work according to the new terms (unless it is not enforced).
New terms: ** To qualify for the welcome bonus, you must open and fund a new Rewards Checking Plus account through Upgrade and make 3 qualifying debit card transactions from your Rewards Checking Plus account within 60 days of the date the Rewards Checking Plus account is opened. If you have previously opened a checking account through Upgrade or do not open a Rewards Checking Plus account as part of this application process, you are not eligible for this welcome bonus offer. Your Upgrade Card and Rewards Checking Plus account must be open and in good standing to receive a bonus. To qualify, debit card transactions must have settled and exclude ATM transactions. Please refer to the applicable Upgrade VISA® Debit Card Agreement and Disclosures for more information. Welcome bonus offers cannot be combined, substituted, or applied retroactively. Old terms for comparision: ** To qualify for the $400 welcome bonus, you must open and fund a new Upgrade Rewards Checking account and make 3 debit card transactions within 60 days of your Upgrade Card account opening. The bonus will be applied as a one-time credit to your account and will not otherwise reduce the amount of your regular monthly payments. The bonus credit will be posted to your Upgrade Card as a rewards credit within 1-2 billing periods following the third debit card transaction on your Rewards Checking account. Your Upgrade Card must be in good standing to receive a bonus
Are those offers back? I have linked in this post the CK offer but last I looked it was $200. Basically I posted both offers as some people didn’t want to do the LOC portion.
