American Airlines is beginning a refresh of their Admirals Club airport lounges. Changes being rolling out 7/23/23 and will be at nearly all locations by early 2024… of course this won’t be for free…
Price hikes
- Admirals Club membership will increase to $850 or 85,000 AAdvantage miles
- Current price: $650 or 65,000 AAdvantage miles
- Admirals Club day pass will increase to $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles
- Current price: $59 or 5,900 AAdvantage miles
- The Advantage Executive card will be increasing from $450 to $595 per year, and you’ll no longer get free Admirals Club access for authorized users
Lounge updates
- Complimentary premium food
- Grab-and-go snacks
- Updated drink menu

Thoughts
Classic move to reduce the crowds. The changes themselves don’t seem to justify a price hike. Even with the refreshes coming to the lounges physical appearances. These changes need to be made to keep up in the lounge wars with other card issuers and airlines. Will hold final judgement until live reports come in.
