Clear is planning service upgrades in 2024
Identity+
CLEAR’s NextGen Identity+ is the highest fidelity digital identity, unlocking physical and digital experiences for our Members in the airport and beyond. We are excited about the even more predictable, friction-free experience that NextGen Identity+ will unlock for our Members and the enhanced security it provides.
All that to say this new identification method pulls info directly from the federal and state services. Clear members are able to make this upgrade now. Eventually the upgrade will be required to keep using Clear.
Clear lane upgrades
Clear kiosks are also getting an upgrade to use facial recognition. The current versions use fingerprint and iris scanning.
These upgrades have been worked on in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security.
Thoughts
At one point, there was talks of a joint Clear/TSA Pre application. No mention of that here but these upgrades are nice if they do make things faster.

Biometrics are so silly. Can issue a new credit card number once breached / stolen. Cannot replace your face / fingerprint once they or anyone else looses your biometrics.
