US Bank is changing the fee structure of its checking accounts. Previously holding a US Bank credit card would waive the checking account fee. Starting in May that is no longer the case.
Thoughts
I had forgotten about the US Bank relationship tier system. This likely wont’ hurt many here who are after the $100k Smartly tier. It’s also not required to have a checking account for Smartly. I can see this becoming a trend as US Bank looks to offset the higher earning tiers.
