Capital One has tweaked the Venture X $300 travel credit. Previously this was a $300 statement credit applied to spend that coded as travel. Now the credit that must be manually applied to purchases made via the Capital One Travel Portal.
The credit can be used all at once or over multiple purchases. If the purchase is canceled, the credit will be refunded so long as the credit has not expired.

Thoughts
This is not great. With a direct statement credit, there’s much more flexibility in what and how you book. With this change, it forces you through the travel portal.
